Five people were able to escape a burning home in Chesterfield County early Tuesday morning, but a dog died in the blaze. The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. on Flag Tail Drive in Midlothian. Two adults and three children were displaced. The fire started in an electrical panel in the home’s garage. This week is National Fire Prevention Week and fire officials are reminding residents to be safe and make sure they have working smoke alarms.
