A building that formerly housed Marco Polo Restaurant was the site of a two-alarm fire Sunday in Vienna. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said via Twitter before 2 p.m. firefighters were responding to a blaze in the 200 block of Maple Avenue West. The fire department confirmed it was the vacant site of the now-closed Marco Polo Restaurant. The fire was under control as of 3.16 p.m. The space is now vacant, but Town Council approved redevelopment plans earlier this year, reported Inside Nova. Photos showed heavy smoke coming from the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
