A Saturday morning fire caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a Stanley-area home. Emergency crews responded to a single-family home south of Stanley at 2185 Dovel Hollow Road about 10 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release from Stanley Fire Chief Terry Pettit. When crews arrived, one bedroom was on fire and smoke had filled the house, Terry said. Chad Campbell, who owns the home with his wife, Amy, noticed smoke when he opened the front door on Saturday morning, according to the release. An electrical cord attached to a power strip in a bedroom was cited as where the fire started. The blaze didn’t spread to the rest of the home because the bedroom door was closed, Pettit said. The damage is estimated about $100,000 and no one was injured.
