Plans for the Rivermont Fire Department’s new building are progressing through the bureaucratic process, but obstacles remain before construction can begin.
The Warren County Planning Commission recently set an Oct. 10 public hearing regarding a conditional use permit for the facility, which is necessary to use the agriculturally zoned land for a fire department.
Plans call for a 15,250-square-foot, one-story fire station on a 5.7-acre parcel of land at the corner of Rivermont Drive and Stokes Airport Road.
Brandy Rosser, Warren County general services director, previously explained that the building’s proposed design includes red accents and stone in attempts to blend the structure with its surrounding agricultural setting.
