Several tornadoes, high winds and torrential rain were unleashed across the Richmond region Monday by the remnants of Hurricane Florence, leaving one man dead and significant damage. The man was killed in Chesterfield County after his workplace collapsed between 3 and 4 p.m. at Old Dominion Floor Co. at 3350 Speeks Drive, near Hull Street Road, officials confirmed. His identity was not immediately released. It’s unclear exactly how many tornadoes there were in the region — the National Weather Service will be assessing Tuesday to determine the total — but multiple tornadoes were seen. They started in Chesterfield County before moving into Powhatan County, Richmond, Henrico County and Hanover County.
