The Henrico County Fire Department celebrated 75 years of service on Sunday.
The department offered the community a sneak peek at every firehouse throughout the county.
Retirees, as well as current firefighters, were on hand to answer questions as well as give tours.
The community will soon see a different color for the fire equipment.
"From yellow fire apparatus to red," Battalion Chief Jackson Baynard said. "We found that you know when you think about it, really communities connect with the red fire engine. That's what people think when they think of fire engines. So it's just another way for us to connect with the community and bridge that gap."
Guests also received fire prevention tips and materials to take home.
