In Montgomery County, significant progress is being made on the new firefighters' burn building. Since the groundbreaking in August, crews have built the structure's foundation, siding, and floors. When complete, all firefighters in Montgomery County will be able to train in a safe, controlled burn environment. They'll learn about different fires, practice search scenarios, and be better trained to help the community "It's just sort of a way instead of putting a new person into a true structure fire, a way to bring them into a structure and teach them what they're going to encounter," Montgomery County's Emergency Services Coordinator, Neal Turner said. Despite a few weather delays, the Emergency Services Coordinator says the work is ahead of schedule. The building could be complete as early as March.
