Three first responders were injured late Tuesday night when their fire engine flipped upside down and landed on its roof in the 1700 block of Zulla Road just inside Fauquier County. Battalion Chief Mike Johnson says the firefighters were returning to their station in Middleburg from a medical emergency call when the accident happened. Johnson says all three firefighters were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but he says their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. A wrecker uprighted the fire engine and towed it away. Dominion Power is replacing a power pole that was knocked down. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office.
