Three firefighters fell through the floor of a burning North Spokane home on Monday near August and Addision. Firefighters said nobody was hurt in the accident, but radio issues played a part in their fall. Leaders on the scene explained that firefighters arrived and immediately discovered the hole in the first floor. However, radio issues prevented them from spreading the word to everyone about the hole and later three firefighters fell. One firefighter's fall was partially broken by a co-worker below. The firefighters fell from the first floor into the basement. The fire was burning for some time before firefighters arrived at the vacant house. Crews at the scene believed squatters had been coming in and out of the house through broken windows. It was determined the fire began in the basement.
