A house fire sent one man to the hospital with severe burns this morning at Empire and Crestline.
The fire sparked about 4:45 a.m. When crews arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the home.
Officials say crews inside were searching the second story on their hands and knees, when they found a 70-year-old man.
"They brought him outside on their hands and knees," said Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. "They realized that he did not have a pulse and they resuscitated him over a period of about 30 minutes. They were able to get blood pressure and a pulse."
He was taken to the hospital, where his condition is unknown.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
