Snohomish County Fire District 1 has promoted Sean Torey to the rank of captain. Captains are responsible for supervising shift personnel at the fire station level – leading a crew of three to five firefighters. Torey has been assigned to Brier Fire Station 18. Torey was raised in Sequim and began his fire service career in 1992 as a resident volunteer with the Poulsbo Fire Department. He was hired in 1994 as a full-time firefighter with the Mountlake Terrace Fire Department, which merged with Fire District 1 in 2005.
