Firefighters rushed into a burning home in Bremerton on Tuesday and saved four puppies from the flames. Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue firefighters arrived at a home in the 1200 block of Camp Sundown Road NW at around 3:45 p.m. after getting reports of a fire at the house. A neighbor who called 911 said the residents weren't home, but there may be puppies inside, according to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. When firefighters arrived at the house they found flames on the first and second floor of the single-family home. When they went in, they found and rescued four puppies that were trapped inside. The puppies were brought outside and given oxygen. All four survived and are doing find. Four other dogs got out of the house on their own, according to the fire department. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and the Kitsap County Fire Marshal was called in to investigate. The home suffered heavy fire and smoke damage throughout, and the four residents and eight dogs will not be able to return.
