Firefighters were quick to battle a fire that broke out Monday night near the 2000 block of 14th Ave S on Beacon Hill. Seattle Fire Department arrived at the apartment building just after 9 p.m. They were alerted to the fire after someone had called 9-1-1 saying they could see smoke and flames coming from the building. The first crews on scene could see flames coming from the second story and extending into the third story balcony. It took firefighters only a few minutes to knock down the blaze. Medical personnel checked out 3 people that were in the building at the time of the fire. A woman was taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation treatment. Investigators are now looking into what started the fire. Two people are displaced because of the fire.
