A Skagit County group will hold the first in a series of meetings Monday aimed at laying out the future of how those in need are transported to area hospitals. While the 20 members of the advisory group are excited about getting all the stakeholders to the table, many are struggling to find faults in the system used by Skagit County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Mark Raaka, director of the county’s EMS office, said that while few complain about the county’s paramedics and EMTs, there are changes that can be made to the existing system to make it more efficient.
