One woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in an apartment building Friday morning in Walla Walla. A news release from the City of Walla Walla said fire crews responded to the blaze in the 900 block of E. Alder Street around 6:45 a.m. Friday. Firefighters found apartment number 1, of the four units, on fire when they arrived on scene according to crews. The blaze spread to the first and second floors according to the release. Over 30 firefighters, including 27 from the Walla Walla Fire Department battled the blaze.
