The three young Vancouver men responsible last year for recklessly setting 110 acres of forest near Woodland on fire will together have to pay the state more than $2.3 million in firefighting costs. As a practical matter, though, they will never be able to pay the costs, and it looks like none of them will spend any time in jail after their initial arrests. Cowlitz Superior Court Judge Stephen Warning on Monday sentenced one of the men, Nathan Craig Taylor, and ordered all three defendants to pay DNR for damages and costs.
