Yakima firefighters want you to be extremely careful with portable heat sources after a man's motor home was destroyed by a fire Monday night. Fire crews were called to the 1100 block of South 18th Street just before 9:30 p.m., but weren't able to save the RV. Investigators say the occupant was using a faulty portable buddy heater that had been adapted to feed from a small propane tank. The occupant was able to get out safely. Firefighters say the damages are estimated at around $25,000.
