A yet-to-be identified body was found in the charred remains of a manufactured home in Packwood Tuesday after crews spent several hours battling the fire, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
The body has not yet been officially identified, according to the Sheriff’s Office, however, authorities believe it is likely to be the 57-year-old man who lived in the home. Lewis County Fire District 10 in Packwood responded to a report of the fire at 5:22 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 12900 block of U.S. Highway 12.
Crews arrived to find the home was fully involved in flames. A fire investigator from Chehalis responded, which is standard procedure to determine the cause and origin of a fire, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
