The Skagit County Commissioners opted not to make any changes to the way emergency medical services are delivered across the county. The commissioners decided Dec. 20 against following a recommendation by a county EMS advisory group to explore the idea of an EMS district. Commissioners instead would like to see the current system strengthened and enhanced. Anacortes Fire Chief Richard Curtis said the current system is working. “People are happy with the service they’ve got and how it’s being delivered,” he said.
