An incident that began as a fire has turned into allegations of murder. On Wednesday, a mobile home in the the 29600 block of 142nd Avenue South was destroyed by fire. Police now say in court documents that a teen who lived in trailer was shot to death in retaliation for an earlier fight. Two men both described in court documents as transients have been arrested and are being held on $1 million bail for investigation of murder and arson. A day after the fire, the body of Mike Clayton, 19, was found in the trailer. An autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Police alleged in court documents that two men, 20 and 18, shot him in retaliation for beating one of them up, The two lay in wait in the mobile home, then killed Clayton, court documents say. Then the two stole a truck from the Kent Parks Department and fled. They were stopped for speeding in Grays Harbor County, and authorities determined that the truck had been stolen. A search of the truck turned up guns stolen from the trail, court documents say. Police questioned the two men and they admitted to shooting and killing Clayton, court documents say.
