Seattle: Woman rescued from Magnolia apartment fire

A woman had to be rescued from an apartment fire in Magnolia. The fire started on 34th Avenue West just after 2 a.m. Wednesday. The occupant called 911 saying she was trapped in her apartment. She was escorted out by firefighters and is being treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly and contain it to one unit. One of the woman’s two cats died in the fire. The flames originated in the kitchen.
