A fire destroyed a cabin and a detached garage early Monday morning near Deer Lake Resort in Stevens County.
That fire started around 2:00 am in the 3900 block of Bonita Vista Way.
When fire crews arrived on scene, they found the cabin, garage, and some surrounding wooded area completely engulfed in flames.
Stevens county initially called in extra resources from Spokane County Fire District 4.
According to Lieutenant Steve Shields with Stevens County Fire District 1, crews were lucky conditions were not drier.
"We got an engine up here fairly quickly. It didn't... there wasn't anything for it to really catch going into wild lands so luckily it didn't spread into that," said Shields.
That cabin was listed for sale. Stevens County Sheriff and Fire are conducting a full investigation.
