Police and firefighters are responding to a report of a man stuck at the very top of Seattle's iconic giant Sequoia tree next to the Macy's store downtown. Crews brought a ladder truck to the scene, at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Stewart Street, after receiving reports of a man stuck in the upper branches of the tall tree. Crews on the scene are trying to rescue the man as negotiators are working to make contact with him. So far he has refused to speak with police and has thrown an apple at medics. He was also seen tossing other materials to the ground. The man is estimated to be about 50 to 60 feet above the ground. The iconic tree was planted at the site in the 1970s and was the focus of an ambitious effort to save it about six years ago after its condition deteriorated.
