Firefighters rescued a dog after a blaze ripped through a home on Blue Valley Road on Sunday morning. Firefighter Bryce McGinley found the family pet, Koda, under a bed in the back bedroom of the home east of Port Angeles, said Marc Lawson, captain for Clallam County Fire District No. 3. The dog was up and walking shortly after firefighters gave him water and oxygen. A community member donated the dog oxygen mask to the fire department about a year ago and this was the first time the department has used it. The department keeps the canine oxygen masks on their staffed career engines.
