This tragedy is tough to forget; a tiny coffee stand in Everett was consumed by flames last January. 26-year-old Courtney Campbell got out of the stand alive by throwing herself through a window. She told investigators she had been trapped for eight grueling seconds. Courtney died four days later with burns covering 90-percent of her body. “Nobody would ever want to see any human being in the condition she was in at that time, let alone it being your best friend—it was extraordinarily difficult to see her like that,” Ben Scott told us of his last moments beside Courtney in Harborview’s burn unit.
