Three West Edgewood Drive residents are safe after a tree fell on their mobile home early this morning. Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie said that Clallam Fire-Rescue District No. 2 responded to the home at 2221 W. Edgewood Drive at 5:18 a.m. after a cottonwood tree fell on it, trapping two residents inside. A third resident who was not in the bedroom was able to exit the home, he said. No injuries were reported. Officials identified one of the residents as Samara Riba, age unknown, who was living in the home with a fiance and another person. DeRousie estimated the tree was between 24 and 30 inches in diameter and about 40 feet long. The tree, he said, sliced through the mobile home and fell just outside a bedroom door, trapping the pair inside. Firefighters removed siding and part of a door frame from the side of the trailer so they could exit.
