Off-duty firefighters are searching on both sides of the Cascades looking for Ken Ward. He is a fellow firefighter who has been missing since Oct. 16. Ward has been a firefighter at Mountain View King County Fire District #44 for 10 years and always shows up for work. When he didn't show up Monday, fellow firefighters and his family knew something was wrong. "He needs to know that the whole brotherhood of firemen is out there ready and waiting to help him," said his mother, Stephanie Buhl. The disappearance has officially turned into a missing person's case for Renton police. His fire gear sits waiting for him at station #92 even though he's been on light duty following hand surgery this summer. He was last seen when he stayed overnight with a friend in Roslyn and told the friend he was heading to see his aunt in Spokane. "I contacted my aunt" said Dan Ward, Ken Ward's brother. "Turned out he never showed up."
