Fire crews on the scene of a two-alarm apartment fire in North Spokane report two people have died Wednesday evening as a result of the fire. Crews on the scene say an adult woman and an adult man have died, but those people have not been identified. A firefighter was injured while trying to save those two people. He was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with second and third degree burns. Spokane Police Department says a number of tenants in the complex were displaced as a result of the heavy water, smoke, and fire damage. Red Cross has responded to assist these tenants. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
