The Mukilteo Fire Department has welcomed a new firefighter.
Jacob Taylor, of Lake Stevens, was sworn in as an officer by Mayor Jennifer Gregerson on Sept. 6. He was hired by Fire Chief Chris Alexander.
Taylor was most recently a volunteer and then part-time firefighter and emergency medical technician for the Snohomish County Fire District 4, for which he served three years.
“It’s good to have you aboard,” Councilmember Ted Wheeler said. “Mukilteo is a great city to work in, especially as a beginner.
“A lot of times, they consider Mukilteo as a stepping stone for something better, but I don’t know how you can get any better than Mukilteo.”
Taylor also worked as a personal trainer for the Lake Stevens Athletic Club for three years.
In addition to working as a personal trainer, Taylor has been a construction contractor, emergency medical technician and emergency room technician.
