Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the deadly Ride the Ducks crash on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle. Five people died in the Sept. 24, 2015 crash, 16 were critically injured. Now KOMO has obtained an internal report by the Seattle Fire Department on their response that day to one of the largest mass casualty accidents in the city's history. A preliminary investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board points the blame to a broken front axle on the amphibious duck vehicle involved. "It was incredibly tragic incident," said Seattle Fire Department incident commander Tamalyn Niggretto. "We saved many lives that day." More than 80 people were involved when the amphibious vehicle loaded with tourists hit a bus carrying many foreign exchange students. 51 were taken to hospitals, but five of those patients died. "I was so heartened that our years of training paid off," said Nigretto.
