Snohomish County fire districts 14 and 18 will have a measure on a special-election ballot April 25. Voters will be asked to decide if the districts should dissolve. District 14 includes Stanwood and the surrounding unincorporated area. District 18 includes the unincorporated area north of Arlington. Both have received fire and emergency medical services from North County Regional Fire Authority (NCRFA) since 2008. In 2012, city of Stanwood began contracting for services with NCRFA, too. If the districts dissolve, they would still receive services from NCRFA.
