A 3-year-old boy died after being trapped in a travel trailer fire in Longview Thursday evening.
Crews were called to an alley on 17th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. for a heavy fire, where they found flames venting through the roof of a travel trailer. A large crowd of spectators was calling for help as a young boy was trapped inside.
Officials say the boy's mom awoke to her husband screaming that the trailer was on fire. Thick, black smoke was blocking their primary exit, so they tried to grab their young kids to escape through a window. They were only able to get their 2-year-old daughter out, while their 3-year-old remain trapped inside.
