The closure of State Route 530 near Oso is impacting neighbors who need and receive medical care in Darrington. “It’s very difficult,” said Emily Acosta who is being treated for cancer. Acosta travels to Everett often to receive treatment for liver cancer. But, what is normally an hour and fifteen minute drive, on Tuesday turned into more than two and half hours. “The last hour was horrible for me to drive," said Acosta. “I had to pull over because my treatment gives me a rush of medication all at once and it makes me very tired.”
