A 48-year-old Tacoma man is fighting for his life after his car was hit head-on by another driver who was speeding to work, Kent police said. The collision happened on Kent's West Valley Highway near 216th Street just before 4 a.m., officials said. Police say the causing driver, a 20-year-old Covington man, was speeding at over 100 mph because he was running late to work. The driver in the other car was originally pronounced dead at the scene, but firefighters were able to regain a pulse and rushed the victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is in critical condition.
