Clark County Fire District 6 earned an AA- bond rating as part of a recent review of its finances, something the district says will help when issuing bonds to pay for building a new fire station and improving others.
The AA- rating, from S&P Global Ratings, is considered high quality, according to the district, and will mean lower interest costs for bonds.
Specifically, the bonds will pay for the costs of acquiring land, constructing and equipping a new fire station and training facilities, and improving and equipping fire stations No. 61 and No. 62.
The district is working with bond underwriters D.A. Davidson & Co. on the bond sale, and the company assisted district staff with presenting its information to the bond rating agency.
