No one was seriously injured in a residential fire that destroyed multiple buildings in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Loon Lake on Sunday night.
The origin of the fire was traced to a garage attached to a mobile home where two people lived just north of Gwenelen Road and North Shore Drive, said Mike Bucy, fire chief of Stevens County Fire District 1.
Firefighters responded to the call around 8 p.m. Sunday. Within an hour, more than 15 fire and rescue vehicles were on scene. They were unable to save the mobile home and a pole barn. The fire spread to a home just south, which was an unoccupied summer home, and a tall ponderosa pine. The home was a “near total loss,” Bucy said.
