PHOTOS - Firefighters from Clallam Fire District No. 2 were able to save one out of three dogs from a residential fire at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie said that Clallam 2 responded to the residential structure fire at 206 N. Carne St. The 9-1-1 call came from a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the top of the exterior kitchen doorway. Homeowner Sandy Fearn was not at home at the time of the fire. The neighbor contacted her to inform her of the fire, said DeRousie. The assistant chief said when firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke throughout the mobile home. Fire had consumed the kitchen area. A deck was on fire as well as grass nearly up to a neighbor’s home.
