A family was displaced by a fire Monday night that destroyed their home and left the two parents injured. Firefighters responded about 9:30 p.m. to the 6300 block of Road B Northwest, about 10 miles south of Ephrata to find a home and vehicle fully-involved, according to Grant County Fire District 13. The home and family’s belongings were a total loss. The father was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with second-degree burns to about 25 percent of his body. The mother suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at a local hospital and released. Firefighters say the family was asleep when the mother woke up to the sound of glass breaking. “The father got up and opened their bedroom door to the hallway when he was met by extreme heat, smoke and flames,” Fire District 13 officials stated.
