A young man is in custody after an overnight standoff that started when the man threatened medics with a rifle, King County sheriff's officials said.
The incident began early Thursday at a home near South 120th Place and 70th Avenue South when medics responded to a call from a woman to help her son, in his early 20s.
When medics arrived at the home, the man refused treatment and threatened medics with a rifle, said a King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. There were unconfirmed reports that a robot was sent into the home at some point and that the man had fired at it.
