Six people were displaced after a fire scorched their Fisher’s Landing-area home’s attic Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to a house fire on Southeast 179th Court shortly before 4:20 p.m., according to dispatch logs. Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Darrin Deming said they arrived at a two-story home to find all six occupants had been evacuated. He said they saw light smoke billowing from under eaves on the front of the house, and heavier smoke coming from roof vents toward its rear, indicating it might have been an attic fire. Firefighters dragged hoses inside and up to the second floor, where they pulled down some ceiling and discovered a fire burning in the attic. About 20 firefighters took roughly a half-hour to get the fire under control, he said. The six adults inside — a mother, father, two adult children and their grandmother and grandfather — all got out safe, he said, and firefighters also found one cat, and brought it out alive.
