Investigators were looking for the cause of a fire responsible for an estimated $50,000 in damage to a Dottie Drive home Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters from Selah, Gleed and the Army’s Yakima Training Center went to the fire at the single-story home just west of town around 3:40 p.m. Smoke was coming from inside the house and under the roof eaves, said Selah Deputy Fire Chief Jim Lange.
Twenty-one firefighters and nine apparatus had the fire out by 4:30 p.m., and firefighters were looking for hot spots afterward.
The home appeared to be vacant, Lange said.
