A Pierce County Sheriff's deputy is hospitalized in stable condition after his patrol car was hit head-on in Parkland Tuesday afternoon. Investigators said the crash happened around around 3:30 p.m. on Tule Lake Road S. near Washington High School. They said the driver of the truck veered into oncoming traffic to try and get around another car. The driver told them he ended up losing control on the slick road and slammed into the deputy's cruiser. "The truck hit him, drove over the top of the patrol car, crushed the whole top of the car," said Det. Ed Troyer with the Pierce Co. Sheriff's Office. "This could have been a lot worse."
