One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Thursday morning. An AMR ambulance traveling west on Interstate 90 lost control and hit the cement barrier on the right side of the roadway. The impact from that collision caused the engine to catch fire. The AMR crew was not transporting a patient at the time and no other drivers or vehicles were involved. Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District 10 responded just before 4:00 a.m. to find the ambulance completely engulfed in flames. Emergency crews were able to remove the ambulance and reopen the westbound lanes of the interstate around 6:00 a.m.
