The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says a body found in a Sun City West pond on Friday is that of a man who's been missing for a week.
Edward Patrick Powers, who goes by Pat or Patrick, was last seen on Dec. 30 leaving his Sun City West home near 135th Avenue and Deer Valley Drive.
MCSO is calling his death "suspicious."
A Silver Alert was issued after Powers' disappearance.
His family had been worried because he had Alzheimer's. He had also left the home with no belongings.
"He didn't have his cellphone. He didn't have his wallet nor did he have a jacket," said Leslie Powers, Patrick's daughter-in-law.
Powers was a retired firefighter from Seattle and served as a Marine.
