Local fire chiefs’ met with the Clarkston City Council Monday night to discuss the options for the future of the Clarkston Fire Department. The main options discussed were annexation with Asotin County Fire District 1 or contracting with Lewiston Fire Department to create a valley wide fire and EMS service. The council asked questions to all three chiefs, one being if the Clarkston firefighters will be able to keep their jobs. "I've been vocal from day one about making sure that no one loses their job through this no matter what and that opportunity is there for them,” said Lewiston Fire Chief Myklebust.
