A 22-year veteran of the Cle Elum Volunteer Fire Department resigned Tuesday night, telling the Cle Elum City Council that he faced harassment and retaliation after filing a complaint against the department’s former chief last year. Rick Graham, who had been Second Assistant Chief of the department and the emergency medical services lead, told the council his complaint came after an incident involving Chief David Campbell at an aid call last September. He said the city failed to protect him after he filed the complaint.
