A mother is in a burn unit at Harborview Medical Center and her two children are presumed dead after flames ripped through her Mount Vernon home early Saturday morning.
Neighbors say her two children, a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, weren't able to escape the flames.
Records show two people have been arrested for investigation of murder and arson in Skagit County, but it's unclear whether those arrests are related to this fire.
Authorities have not confirmed the children's deaths, though families in the Bay View neighborhood say they saw authorities recover the bodies of the young kids.
