A fire destroyed an attached garage at a South Naches Road home and spread into the home’s roof and crawl space Tuesday.
The fire broke out shortly before noon in the garage at 9645 South Naches Road, according to firefighters.
Before firefighters were able to control the blaze, it spread through the roof space and damaged the master bedroom and bath, according to Naches Fire Department officials.
Firefighters say the garage is a total loss because of a small explosion that took place during the blaze. Officials say it could have been caused by ammunition and a small propane tank.
No one was home when the fire started, but a dog and three parrots are believed to have died.
