Update: Man held in fatal Skagit fire released

A man held in an arson fire that killed two children earlier this month has been released from jail. Skagit County has also dropped all charges against Jaramy Chism, Chism and his girlfriend Kimberly Hughes were arrested in the fire that killed a 6-year-old boy and his 8-year-old sister on July 15. Hughes remains in the Skagit County Jail. Chism was to have a preliminary hearing on Monday. Prosecutors tried but failed to get that hearing delayed, the Skagit Valley Herald reported. The newspaper reported that Chism's lawyer was expected to argue that there wasn't enough evidence against him and that the charges should be dropped.
