Two northeastern Washington wildfires continue to grow and block recreation because of the Noisy Creek Fire on Hall Mountain area east of Sullivan Lake and the North Fork Hughes Fire in a portion of the Shedroof Divide in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness. The Colville National Forest has closed Forest Road 22/2220 from East Sullivan Campround to Pass Creek Pass, blocking access to the Shedroof Divide in the Salmo. The Noisy Creek Campground at the south end of Sullivan Lake has been closed to the public as firefighters work. The Back Country Horsemen of Washington state-wide work party is cancelled, which is a bummer for all the volunteer planning and effort that went into it not to mention the work for trails that won't get done. Holly Weiler of Washington Trails Association said a work party she had scheduled for the area is being re-assigned.
